Stages and generation
Qubu Studio works in three stages.
TODO screenshot: show the Zone, Section, and Floor stage controls with the Generative Algorithm Settings window open, with the current stage highlighted.
Zone
Zone is the massing stage.
Use it for:
- site-wide targets,
- building count, footprint, height, and spacing,
- daylight-aware massing,
- informed-space steering,
- and context-aware placement.
Run massing generation only after the boundary, surroundings, and canvas are correct.
Section
Section is the section-planning stage.
Use it for:
- section coverage,
- GBA and NSA targets,
- section count and height,
- enabled section templates,
- and snapping to urban massing orientation.
Section generation depends on a meaningful massing result.
Floor
Floor is the apartment/floorplan stage.
Use it for:
- apartment mix,
- apartment category enable/disable,
- and parking-per-unit requirements.
Floor generation depends on section geometry.
Generation advice
- Set geometry and constraints before you start a long run.
- Stop algorithms before importing new geometry.
- Use broader ranges when you want variety.
- Use narrower ranges only after the site setup is trustworthy.
- Re-run after meaningful changes to boundary, surroundings, informed spaces, canvas, daylight inputs, or stage-specific settings.
