How to edit sections

Use this guide when section generation produced a useful result that needs targeted manual edits.

Start from a section result

1. Switch to Section.
2. Generate sections first.
3. Open Boundary → Sections in the left tree.
4. Select the section you want to edit.

Change the section fields you need

In Properties, adjust only the fields that matter for the current change:

• Size of Grid Cell X / Y
• Size of Core X / Y
• Rotation
• Position X / Y

If you are checking fit against targets, open Hard Targets or Soft Targets while you edit.

Validate the edit before you move on

1. Recheck section placement in top view.
2. Open Reports → Sections.
3. Recheck footprint, coverage, GBA, NSA, and NSA to GBA.
4. Return to Floor only after the section layout is acceptable.

When to regenerate instead of editing

• Regenerate sections when multiple instances need the same structural change.
• Edit manually when only a few section instances need correction.
