Themes, compass, and viewport

Themes

The Themes popover controls the active daylight visualization.

Available modes:

• Direct Sunlight
• Daylight Factor
• Summary Shading Angle

Use one mode at a time when reviewing performance. Changing the mode can trigger a daylight recalculation.

Compass

The compass is shown in the bottom-right of the viewport.

Use it with North offset:

• the compass is the visual reference,
• North offset rotates solar north relative to the scene,
• wrong north means wrong daylight interpretation.

Viewport navigation

Mouse and trackpad

• right-drag: orbit
• Shift + right-drag: pan
• right-drag with command/control: target zoom
• mouse wheel: zoom
• smooth scroll in ortho view: pan
• smooth scroll in perspective view: rotate
• pinch: zoom

Camera helpers

• F: fit the scene in view
• T: switch to top view

Gizmo

Press W to activate the transform gizmo for editable geometry.

When the gizmo is active, use it for controlled edits instead of freehand camera movement.
